- What materials does Mika work with?
-
Since 1939 we've had experience working with carbon steel, perforated carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel and perforated stainless steel. To review common thicknesses, check out our RFQ form here. Simply scroll down, select your material type, then view all available gauges for that metal in the next drop down.
- Can I supply my own material?
-
Yes! In most cases Mika will accept your supplied material providing it is in good condition and free from defects.
- Can I just buy sheets of metal from Mika?
-
No. We’re a sheet metal fabricator which means we buy material just for jobs we produce in-house on behalf of our customers – we do not sell metal to the public or outside entities. If you need single sheets of material try contacting a local service center.
- Can I have you produce a small quantity?
-
If you’re talking about advance samples or prototypes for inspection before doing an on-going, full production run, then yes. If you’re talking about simply producing a one-time run of a small quantity, then we’re probably not the company for you. If you’re not sure, feel free to upload your specifications through our RFQ form. We’ll let you know if we’ll be competitively priced or not.
- Can you help me design my project for optimum manufacturability?
-
Yes! Our manufacturing engineers are happy to review your mechanical drawings and make suggestions to product features, tolerances and other variables that will ensure the best possible outcome for your project.
- Will you reverse engineer a part for me?
-
This depends on the complexity of the assembly or part to be reverse engineered. Give us a call or fill out our Contact Us form to speak with a sales representative.
- Can you produce my project if it’s primarily made from tubing?
-
Projects primarily comprised of tubing – such as railings, fences and architectural features do not fit our capabilities; however, as part of an overall sheet metal project, Mika can assemble tubing into your design.
- Can I get my project powder coated?
-
Yes! Mika Metal is a full-service fabricator – which includes in-house powder coating and screen printing.
- What if my assembly is larger than 10’, can you produce it?
-
We work with common sheet metal sizes that are a maximum length of 10 feet. If your assembly is larger - and can be welded together from smaller sub-assemblies versus fabricated in one piece – we may be able to produce it as long as the weight doesn’t become a safety issue for our operators.
- Can you ship my products to Mexico or Canada?
-
Yes. Mika frequently ships throughout North America for our customers.
